General Manager: Mining Operations SpecialistJob Description: The management of a divisional mining function to consistently produce the required raw materials on time at the correct quantity and quality in a cost effective and safe way through a motivated workforce. Main Responsibilities: Identify performance optimization opportunities to enhance bottom line financial benefits. Coordinate the preparation of resources and reserves statements. Coordinate the preparation and ensure adherence to mine plans and schedules. Oversee the technical mining aspects of the operations which typically include crushing, screening, conveying, stacking, loading and hualing. (Not totally inclusive). Develop and maintain life of mine plans for all operations with input from all operations and manage the successful implementation of these plans. Compile and put into place plans and systems to manage the career paths of the mining managers and associated staff. Monitor operational performance against budget (Current plan). Facilitate performance and compliance audits across the group and ensure adherence to minimum standards. Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation (corporate governance). Assist with the coordination and implementation of SLP's (including CSI's) at all the mining operations. Coordinate best Practices to optimise the life of mines. Ensure that all safety, health and environmental legal and PPC standards are complied with to focussing on safety as the No. 1 priority. Ensure that a healthy Kambuku climate is maintained in the mining team and work closely (synchronised) with the Factory GM's to achieve this objective. Ensure the highest maintenance standards are applied and maintained using resources which typically include costs (SM & OM), MOP, mobile equipment maintenance team, contractors, etc. (List not totally inclusive). Site manage all projects related to the mining operation. Compile a mining score card on an annual basis for approval by the PPC Exec. Ensure that all resources are optimised to maximise target achievement. Ensure that all the raw material tons requirement for the factory at the correct quality aims are continiously met without negatively affecting the plant equipment utilisations. Ensure that the mining operation has at minimum 6 to 12 months of quality limestone exposed at full kiln plant production tons. Ensure that the mining blue print is "alive" and populated per individual mine requirement to most efficiently otimise our human resourse assets. Ensure that the capital applications are properly investigated, planned and costed. Once approved impleneted and commisioned with capital costs, on time and to the correct scope and quality aligned with the original objective(s). Successfully prepare plan each year and action once approved within the appoved plan and subsequence plan updates reviews as approved. Requirements:
Education:
BSc Mining / Engineering Degree or equivalent Preferably applicable business qualification (e.g. MBA) Mine Manager Certificate of Competence
