Lafarge - Plant Manager

Job Description:

  • Be the "champion" of the BU/Division priorities in the plant.
  • Develop and maintain high plant performance standards:  safety, sustainable industrial excellence, people development & mobilization and customer orientation.
  • Develop the value of the plant assets: equipment, reserves, skills and organization, Plant Image (stakeholders' relationships).
  • Be award with local law with the legal support.

SAFETY

  • Behave in accordance with the eleven safety rules set up by the Group and must be an example for the employees.
  • Create safe work conditions and mobilize all plant employees and on-site contractors on safety at work (behaviours and skills).

PLANT MANAGEMENT CYCLE

  • Conduct all necessary assessments and benchmarks in the framework of Advance.
  • Formulate the vision and set the priorities of the plant with the manufacturing director.
  • Define the Plant Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) with the relation manager's support.
  • Prepare the annual plant budgets and ensure the constant follow up along the year.
  • Define investment needs, CAPEX budgets and ensure execution of related projects.
  • Prepare the plant O&HR review including the Plant Team Assessment.
  • Set the plant objectives and cascade them down to his subordinates in a stretch and coherent manner.

QUALITY & CUSTOMER SATISFACTION

  • Establish high quality standards on a contractual mode with the marketing.
  • Ensure that the products meet the quality specifications and decide to stop the deliveries in case of non conformities.
  • Develop a customer orientation culture for all plant personnel.

INDUSTRIAL EXCELLENCE

  • Optimize and adapt the production process and equipment in line with PIP
  • Ensure that the production commitments in terms of volumes, deadlines and costs are respected.

HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT & DEVELOPMENT

  • Define and implement with the BU HR Director the relevant organizational changes.
  • Elaborate the succession plan and training plan of people at all level to preserve or develop the key competencies.
  • Decide on the allocation of the personnel, their sanctions and rewards.
  • Ensure the communication and negotiation with local representatives of the personnel of the local work agreements under the HR Director's guidance.
  • Preserve the social climate.

STAKEHOLDER RELATIONS

  • Represent the company in front of the local authorities and the union representatives.
  • Promote company image in the local social, economical and environmental community.
  • Ensure that the laws and regulations pertaining to the activity are respected as well as protection of environment in compliance with Group standards.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree.
  • 10 years experience in a process industry. Strong and experienced background in senior management including Technical, Process and Project management understanding.
  • English: upper intermediate level. Must be able to express him/her during meetings with native or foreign English speakers.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word and Lotus Notes.
