Petrophysicist

Job Description

  • Maintain geological and petrophysical data bases consistent, fit-for-purpose (data integrity,maintenance and accessibility) across OEPL as required.
  • Advise on logging suites, coring, testing and core analyses requirements (expl., appr., dev. wells)QC logs and first pass log interpretation while drilling, advise on pressure and sampling points, in conjunction with the reservoir engineer.
  • Performs consistent petrophysical interpretations (lithology, phi, So, Sg, net, n/g, EPV, sums and averages), culminating in fully documented petrophysical models which describe accurately the distribution of fluids within reservoirs, for eventual implementation in 3D static modelling and dynamic simulation.
  • Identifies by-passed hydrocarbons and workover opportunities.
  • Provide petrophysical support to exploration for acreage evaluation, and workover activities, as required
  • Contribute to detailed reservoirs and field reviews, and field development plans, as required.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
