Job Description

The Business Development Consultant will be responsible for the development of business operations for DuPont in Angola. Participating as a member of the business growth team, the Business Development Consultant will play a key role in identifying new sales opportunities and drive business growth in the Angola through customer and market need definition, as well as developing a leading edge on competitive offerings in the industry.

Focus will be on the following sectors: Construction, Oil & Gas, Food processing and Chemicals.

Key Responsibilities

To facilitate business growth and develop a strong business position initially in Angola by working together with the Strategic Global Business Units, the Regional Directors, the Business Development Team, as well as the Regional Sales & Marketing;
Lead the products in the Angola;
Conduct Rapid Market Assessment for DuPont’s strategic business units (SBUs) not present in the country - Develop and implement a road map for Angola;
Support and advise business units in getting started and in developing their route to the market;
Drive growth projects into commercialization (including identifying new customers and applications);
Build relationships with external parties including suppliers, industry associations, distributors, procurement managers and customers;
Develop leading edge knowledge on competitive offering and innovative products;
In conjunction with the strategy, develop and lead industry road shows for the country.

Education and Qualifications

Bachelors Degree preferably from Engineering faculties (MBA degree will be an asset);
Relevant experience in a Sales (customer relations) / market development / business development / market research and/or new product commercialization ;
Sales experience within one of the following sectors: chemical, construction, oil&gas metallurgy, fmcg (such as food manufacturing / brewing/ soft drinks or transportation industry);
Ability to work independently;
Keen observer on commercial & economical drivers / actions, both in the market and globally;
Proactive, has leadership approach, self-starter, quick learner with strong networking ability with high level of energy and dedication;
Proven track record of meeting sales targets/ developing new business;
Proven track record in Angola with commercial credibility;
Fluent in English and Portuguese.
